Ballintubber Abbey At Sunset.

Ballintubber Abbey was founded in 1216 by King of Connacht, Cathal Crobhdearg Ua Conchobair. Mass has been celebrated here uninterrupted for over 800 years. Former James Bond Actor Pearse Brosnan got married here in 2001. Ballintubber, Co. Mayo, is on the N84 Galway to Castlebar road. The Abbey is about a mile from the village and is signposted.
