Lough Lannagh & Croagh Patrick At Sunset
Lough Lannagh is located beside the town of Castlebar, Co. Mayo, Ireland.
In the distance, we see Croagh Patrick (also known as “The Reek”), Ireland’s holy mountain where St. Patrick fasted and prayed for 40 days in 441 AD. Every year (not 2020 obviously) on the last Sunday in July (Reek Sunday) about 25,000 climb to the summit (many in their bare feet) where there is a small church. Croagh Patrick is beside the village of Murrisk, about 19 miles/30km from Castlebar and 8 miles/13km from Westport.
