The River Moy From The Quay, Ballina, Co. Mayo.

The ship in the distant centre, is called the SS Crete Boom and was actually built of concrete. It was one of a fleet of such ships that construction began on during WWI in Britain, but none was completed before the war's end. The Crete Boom was completed in 1919. It was purchased by Ballina Harbour Commissioners in 1937 as part of plans for a sand barrier for the habour.
